# WashData

> WashData is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 9.2k installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 27, 2026.

WashData monitors appliances through a smart plug, detecting cycles and estimating the time remaining. It reads the power trace to find cycle start, pause and end, then recognises the program once profiles have been taught from recorded or labelled cycles. It supports washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, air fryers, bread makers and pumps, plus a threshold type for simple on/off detection. Entities cover running state, program, progress, current phase, match confidence and time remaining, along with buttons to pause, resume, force-end or record a cycle. Actions let profiles and cycles be labelled, trimmed, exported and imported, and cycle feedback can correct a detected program. It runs locally inside Home Assistant and is set up in the UI by choosing a power sensor and a minimum power threshold.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### WashData Setup

- **Device Name**: A friendly name for this device (e.g., 'Washing Machine', 'Dishwasher').
- **Device Type**: Sets detection defaults for this kind of appliance.
- **Power Sensor**: The smart plug sensor that reports live power in watts.
- **Minimum Power Threshold (W)**: Readings above this (in watts) mean the appliance is running. 2 W suits most devices.

### Reconfigure WashData

- **Device Name**
- **Device Type**
- **Power Sensor**
- **Minimum Power Threshold (W)**

### After setup

- **Device Name**
- **Device Type**
- **Power Sensor**
- **Minimum Power Threshold (W)**

## Entities

- **Binary sensors**: Running, Match Ambiguity, Maintenance due
- **Buttons**: Force End Cycle, Pause Cycle, Resume Cycle, Record Cycle Start, Record Cycle Stop, Mark Unloaded
- **Selects**: Cycle Program
- **Sensors**: State, Program, Time Remaining, Total Duration, Progress, Current Power, Elapsed Time, Debug Info, Match Confidence, Top Candidates, Ambiguity Score, Current Phase, and 4 more

## Actions

- **Label Cycle**: Assign an existing profile to a past cycle, or remove the label.
Fields: Device, Cycle ID, Profile Name
- **Create Profile**: Create a new profile (standalone or based on a reference cycle).
Fields: Device, Profile Name, Reference Cycle ID
- **Delete Profile**: Delete a profile and optionally unlabel cycles using it.
Fields: Device, Profile Name, Unlabel Cycles
- **Auto-Label Old Cycles**: Retroactively label unlabeled cycles using profile matching.
  Fields: Device, Confidence Threshold
- **Export Config**: Export this device's profiles, cycles and settings to a JSON file.
  Fields: Device, Path
- **Import Config**: Import profiles, cycles, and settings for this device from a JSON export file (settings may be overwritten).
  Fields: Device, Path
- **Submit Cycle Feedback**: Confirm or correct the detected program of a finished cycle. Give device\_id (recommended) or entry\_id.
Fields: Device, Entry ID, Cycle ID, Confirm Detected Program, Corrected Profile, Corrected Duration (seconds), Notes
- **Record Cycle Start**: Start manually recording a clean cycle (bypasses all matching logic).
  Fields: Device
- **Record Cycle Stop**: Stop manual recording.
  Fields: Device
- **Trim Cycle**: Trim the power data of a past cycle to a specific time window.
Fields: Device, Cycle ID, Trim Start (seconds), Trim End (seconds)
- **Pause Cycle**: Pause the active cycle for a WashData device.
  Fields: Device
- **Resume Cycle**: Resume a paused cycle for a WashData device.
  Fields: Device
- **Trigger ML Training**: Manually retrain the on-device ML models from this device's own labelled cycles (experimental).
  Fields: Device
- **Mark Unloaded**: Confirm the finished load was taken out. Clears the Clean state and any unload reminder.
  Fields: Device

## Troubleshooting

- **Diagnostics**: Downloads a diagnostics file to attach to a bug report.

## From the README

> A Home Assistant integration that watches an appliance through its smart plug. It detects each cycle, recognises which program ran from the power curve, and tells you how long is left.
>
> Works with washing machines, dryers, washer-dryers, dishwashers, air fryers, bread makers and pumps. Two catch-all types cover the rest: Other (Advanced) (full program matching) and Threshold Device (on/off detection only).
