# Workday

> Workday is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 30.1k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Workday is a built-in Home Assistant integration that tells whether a day counts as a workday. It adds a binary sensor and a calendar, and runs locally. Workdays depend on the chosen country, with an optional subdivision such as a state or region, and the language used for named holidays can be set. Weekdays can be included or excluded, custom holidays can be added as dates or ranges, and holidays can be removed by date or by part of a name. An offset in days shifts the day being checked, and an extra category of holidays can be counted. A check date action tests whether a given date is a workday, and setup is done in the UI.

- **Add holidays**: Add custom holidays as YYYY-MM-DD or as range using , as separator
- **Additional category as holiday**: Select additional categories to include as holidays
- **Offset**: Days offset from current day
- **Days to exclude**: Select which weekdays to exclude as workdays. The key holidays adds those for the configured country, customizable by all the settings below. Read the documentation on how to use them correctly.
- **Language for named holidays**: Language to use when configuring named holiday exclusions
- **Subdivision of country**: State, territory, province or region of country
- **Remove holidays**: Remove holidays as YYYY-MM-DD, as range using , as separator or by using partial of name
