# Velbus

> Velbus is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 134 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Velbus is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to Velbus home automation modules locally. It adds binary sensors, buttons, climate, covers, lights, selects, sensors and switches for the modules it finds. The connection can be made over TCP/IP, with optional password and secure connection support, or through a USB serial port, and a VLP file can optionally be supplied. Actions cover scanning the modules, clearing the cache and rescanning, syncing the module clocks to Home Assistant, and setting memo text on display modules. Home Assistant can discover the interface on the network, and its connection settings can be changed later without removing it. Setup is done in the UI.
