# Traccar Server

> Traccar Server is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 1.2k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Traccar Server is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to a Traccar Server for tracking devices. It communicates locally and is set up in the UI with an API token, the server host and port, and SSL options. Tracked devices appear as presence entities, alongside binary sensors for motion and status. Sensors report address, altitude, battery voltage, geofence and supply voltage. Options let selected Traccar events fire in Home Assistant, add custom or calculated attributes, and set a maximum accuracy so less precise position reports are ignored. A position skip filter lets chosen attributes bypass that accuracy limit, and a diagnostics file can be downloaded for bug reports.

## Setting it up

It is added under Settings, Devices and services, with Add integration.

### Connect

- **API token**: The API token generated from your account on your Traccar Server
- **Host**: The hostname or IP address of your Traccar Server
- **Port**
- **Uses an SSL certificate**
- **Verify SSL certificate**

### Sign in again

- **API token**

### After setup

- **Custom attributes**: Add any custom or calculated attributes here. These will be added to the device attributes
- **Events**: Selected events will be fired in Home Assistant
- **Max accuracy**: Any position reports with accuracy higher than this value will be ignored
- **Position skip filter for attributes**: Attributes defined here will bypass the accuracy filter if they are present in the update
