# Splunk

> Splunk is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 51 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Splunk is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to a Splunk server through its HTTP Event Collector. It communicates locally with the Splunk instance and is configured in the UI. Setup asks for the server host, the collector port, and the collector token, plus a name that identifies this Home Assistant instance in Splunk events. Options cover whether the server uses an SSL certificate and whether that certificate is verified when connecting, which is the recommended choice. If the token needs replacing, a reauthentication step accepts a new one, and the connection settings can be changed later without removing the integration. A diagnostics file can be downloaded to attach to a bug report.
