# SFTP Storage

> SFTP Storage is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 1.1k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **Set up in the UI**: Add it in Settings, Devices and services. Nothing to download.

## Setting it up

It is added under Settings, Devices and services, with Add integration.

### Connect

- **Remote path**: Remote path where to upload backups.
- **Host**: Hostname or IP address of SSH/SFTP server to connect to.
- **Password**: Password to authenticate with. Provide this or private key file.
- **Port**: Port of your SSH/SFTP server. This is usually 22.
- **Private key file**: Upload private key file used for authentication. Provide this or password.
- **Username**: Username to authenticate with.
