# Scrape

> Scrape is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 5.9k installs sharing analytics and needs the vendor's cloud.

## Supports

- **Uses the vendor's cloud**: Needs an internet connection and an account with the vendor.
- **Set up in the UI**: Add it in Settings, Devices and services. Nothing to download.
- **Updated with Home Assistant**: Ships and updates with every Home Assistant release.

## Setting it up

It is added under Settings, Devices and services, with Add integration.

### Connect

- **Method**
- **Payload**: Payload to use when method is POST.
- **Resource**: The URL to the website that contains the value.
- **Character encoding**: Character encoding to use. Defaults to UTF-8.
- **Headers**: Headers to use for the web request.
- **Timeout**: Timeout for connection to website.
- **Verify SSL certificate**: Enables/disables verification of SSL/TLS certificate, for example if it is self-signed.
- **Select authentication method**: Type of the HTTP authentication. Either basic or digest.
- **Password**
- **Username**

### After setup
