# Saunum

> Saunum is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 19 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Saunum is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to a Saunum Leil sauna control unit over the local network. It adds a climate entity, a light, number controls for fan duration and sauna duration, and sensors for active heater elements and total time turned on. Binary sensors report alarms such as door open during heating, door open too long, internal temperature, thermal cutoff, and a disconnected or shorted temperature sensor. An action starts a sauna session with a custom duration, target temperature, and fan duration. The three sauna type presets can be given custom names in the options. Setup is done in the UI by entering the unit's IP address, and connection settings can be changed later without removing the integration.
