# Samsung Smart TV

Samsung Smart TV is a built-in integration that connects Samsung televisions to Home Assistant over the local network. It adds a media player and a remote for each TV. Home Assistant can spot a compatible TV on the network and offer to add it, and setup is done in the UI with the TV's host and, where needed, a PIN shown on the screen. A device trigger fires when the TV is requested to turn on, so automations can start from that event. Connection settings can be changed later without removing the TV, and a diagnostics file can be downloaded to attach to a bug report.

## Setting it up

Home Assistant usually finds it on the network and offers to add it. It can also be added by hand under Settings, Devices and services.

- **Name**: The name of your TV. This will be used to identify the device in Home Assistant.

- **PIN code**: The PIN displayed on your TV.
