# Rain Bird

> Rain Bird is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 2.5k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Rain Bird is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to a Rain Bird irrigation controller over the local network. It adds a rain sensor binary sensor, a rain delay sensor and a rain delay number, along with buttons, calendars and switches for the controller. One action starts irrigation, and another sets how long automatic irrigation stays turned off. An option sets the default time in minutes that a sprinkler runs when turned on. Setup happens in the UI, using the host name or IP address of the device and its password.

### Configure Rain Bird

- **Host**: The hostname or IP address of your Rain Bird device.
- **Password**: The password used to authenticate with the Rain Bird device.

### Sign in again

- **Password**: The password to authenticate with your Rain Bird device.

### After setup

- **Default irrigation time in minutes**: The default duration the sprinkler will run when turned on.
