# Overkiz

> Overkiz is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 17.4k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Overkiz is a built-in Home Assistant integration for Somfy hubs and other devices that use the Overkiz platform. It adds alarms, binary sensors, buttons, covers, fans, lights, locks, numbers, scenes, selects, sensors, sirens and switches. It can connect locally to a hub using its hostname or IP address and an API token, or through the cloud account of the vendor app. A service sets cover position and tilt together, so the motor does not stop between the two movements. Home Assistant can discover the hub on the network, and setup is done in the UI. Devices that no longer exist are removed automatically, and connection settings can be changed without removing the entry.

## Setting it up

Home Assistant usually finds it on the network and offers to add it. It can also be added by hand under Settings, Devices and services.

### Connect

- **Server**: Select the mobile app that you use to control your devices.

### Cloud

- **Password**: The password of your cloud account (app).
- **Username**: The username of your cloud account (app).

### Local

- **Host**: The hostname or IP address of your Overkiz hub.
- **API token**: Token generated by the app used to control your device.
- **Verify SSL certificate**: Verify the SSL certificate. Select this only if you are connecting via the hostname.

- **Gateway**: Select the gateway you want to add.
