# OpenEVSE

> OpenEVSE is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 179 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

OpenEVSE is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to an OpenEVSE electric vehicle charger over the local network. It adds sensors for values such as charging power, charging current, charging voltage, ambient temperature and charge time elapsed. Binary sensors report states such as vehicle connected, divert active and limit active. A number sets the charge rate, a select sets the override state, and switches cover manual override, the current shaper and solar PV divert. Buttons restart the charger or its Wi-Fi. Home Assistant can discover the charger on the network, and setup is done in the UI with the charger's address and optional login details.
