# ONVIF

> ONVIF is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 29.3k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

ONVIF is a built-in integration that connects ONVIF-compatible network cameras to Home Assistant over the local network. It adds camera entities along with binary sensors, sensors, buttons and switches, including switches for autofocus, the IR lamp and the wiper. Cameras that support PTZ can be panned, tilted and zoomed through an action. Home Assistant can discover devices on the network and offer to add them, or the device can be searched for automatically or entered by host, port, username and password. Options cover webhooks, extra FFmpeg arguments, the RTSP transport mechanism and using the wall clock for timestamps. Setup is done in the UI, and a diagnostics file can be downloaded for bug reports.
