# Mastodon

> Mastodon is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 141 installs sharing analytics and needs the vendor's cloud.

Mastodon is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to a Mastodon account. It adds sensors for account details such as followers, following, posts, last post and username. Binary sensors report account flags, including bot, locked, discoverable, indexable, suspended and moved. Actions can post a status, get information about an account, mute or unmute an account, and update the profile information and pictures. It relies on the vendor's cloud and is set up in the UI with an application's access token, client key, client secret and the server URL. Connection settings can be changed later without removing the integration.

### Sign in again

- **Access token**: The access token for the application created within your Mastodon account.
