# OpenWrt (luci)

> OpenWrt (luci) is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 889 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

OpenWrt (luci) is a built-in integration that tracks device presence through an OpenWrt router. It communicates with the router locally and exposes presence entities to Home Assistant. Setup is done in the interface, where the router's hostname or IP address, a username and a password are entered. Options cover whether the connection uses SSL and whether the router's SSL certificate is verified. If an older YAML configuration fails to import because of a connection or authentication problem, a notice can appear under Repairs in Settings.

## Setting it up

It is added under Settings, Devices and services, with Add integration.

### Connect

- **Host**: The hostname or IP address of your OpenWrt router.
- **Password**: The password to log in to the OpenWrt router.
- **Uses an SSL certificate**: Whether to connect to the router using SSL.
- **Username**: The username to log in to the OpenWrt router.
- **Verify SSL certificate**: Whether to verify the router's SSL certificate.

### Sign in again

- **Password**: The password to log in to the OpenWrt router.
- **Username**: The username to log in to the OpenWrt router.
