It has 8.3k installs sharing analytics and works locally. LIFX is a built-in integration that controls LIFX smart lights over the local network. It adds light entities along with a clean cycle binary sensor, a signal strength sensor, and selects for infrared brightness and theme. Several actions run firmware-based effects, including flame and morph on Tiles or Candle, move on Z, Lightstrip or Beam, and sky on Ceiling lights. Other actions cover color loop and pulse effects, stopping a running effect, painting a theme or custom palette across lights, and setting color and brightness. Another action controls the HEV LEDs on a LIFX Clean bulb. Devices are found automatically on the network and added through the UI, or entered by host. No vendor cloud in between. - **Set up in the UI**: Add it in Settings, Devices and services. Nothing to download. - **Found by itself**: Home Assistant spots it on the network and offers to add it. - **Updated with Home Assistant**: Ships and updates with every Home Assistant release. ## Setting it up Home Assistant usually finds it on the network and offers to add it. It can also be added by hand under Settings, Devices and services. ### Connect - **Host**: The hostname or IP address of your LIFX device. - **Serial number**: The twelve-character serial number printed on your LIFX device. On its own, it is resolved by broadcasting to your network. ### Choose a device - **Device**: The discovered LIFX device to add. ### Change the connection - **Host**: The new hostname or IP address of this LIFX device. Fields: Cloud saturation maximum, Cloud saturation minimum, Palette, Power on, Sky type, Speed - **Stop effect**: Stops a running effect. - **Paint theme**: Paints either a provided theme or custom palette across one or more LIFX lights. Fields: Palette, Power on, Theme, Transition - **Set HEV cycle state**: Controls the HEV LEDs on a LIFX Clean bulb. Fields: Duration, Enable - **Set state**: Sets a color/brightness and possibly turn the light on/off.
