# KACO Modbus

> KACO Modbus is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 10 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.

## Setting it up

It is added under Settings, Devices and services, with Add integration.

### Connect

- **Host**: The inverter's hostname or IP address.
- **Port**: The Modbus TCP port. KACO inverters use 502 unless changed.
- **Unit ID**: Leave at 1 unless the inverter is reached through an RS485-to-TCP gateway, which needs the address configured on that gateway.
