# Hyperion

> Hyperion is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 1.6k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Hyperion is a built-in Home Assistant integration that connects to a Hyperion ambient lighting server. It communicates locally and adds camera, light, sensor and switch platforms. A sensor reports the visible priority, and switches control server components such as audio capture, blackbar detection, the boblight server, the forwarder, the LED device, platform capture, smoothing and USB capture. Options let the user pick which Hyperion effects are shown and which priority is used for colors and effects. Home Assistant can discover the server on the network and offer to add it, and setup is done in the UI with either a new or an existing token.
