# Huawei LTE

> Huawei LTE is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 858 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Huawei LTE is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to Huawei LTE routers over the local network. It adds binary sensors, buttons, sensors, selects, switches, presence tracking and an SMS notification service. Readings include mobile signal details, connection traffic and Wi-Fi status, while switches control mobile data and the guest Wi-Fi network. A select changes the preferred network mode, and a button clears traffic statistics. Two actions suspend and resume the integration, which logs it out of the router so the web interface can be used from a browser. Options cover default SMS recipients, tracking wired clients and an unauthenticated mode with limited features. Home Assistant can discover the router on the network, and setup is done in the UI.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **Set up in the UI**: Add it in Settings, Devices and services. Nothing to download.
- **Found by itself**: Home Assistant spots it on the network and offers to add it.
- **Adds new devices**: New devices show up without setting it up again.
- **Updated with Home Assistant**: Ships and updates with every Home Assistant release.

## Setting it up

Home Assistant usually finds it on the network and offers to add it. It can also be added by hand under Settings, Devices and services.

### Configure Huawei LTE

- **Password**: Password for accessing the router's API. Typically, the same as the one used for the router's web interface.
- **URL**
- **Username**: Username for accessing the router's API. Typically, the same as the one used for the router's web interface. Usually, either admin, or left empty (recommended if that works).
- **Verify SSL certificate**: Whether to verify the SSL certificate of the router when accessing it. Applicable only if the router is accessed via HTTPS.

### Sign in again

- **Password**: Password for accessing the router's API. Typically, the same as the one used for the router's web interface.
- **Username**: Username for accessing the router's API. Typically, the same as the one used for the router's web interface. Usually, either admin, or left empty (recommended if that works).

### After setup

- **Notification service name (change requires restart)**: Used to distinguish between notification services in case there are multiple Huawei LTE devices configured. Changes to this option value take effect after Home Assistant restart.
- **SMS notification recipients**: Comma-separated list of default recipient SMS phone numbers for the notification service, used in case the notification sender does not specify any.
- **Track wired network clients**: Whether the device tracker entities track also clients attached to the router's wired Ethernet network, in addition to wireless clients.
- **Unauthenticated mode (change requires reload)**: Whether to run in unauthenticated mode. Unauthenticated mode provides a limited set of features, but may help in case there are problems accessing the router's web interface from a browser while the integration is active. Changes to this option value take effect after integration reload.
