# Hot Spring

> Hot Spring is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 12 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Hot Spring is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to a Hot Spring spa through its Home Network Adapter. It communicates locally and is set up in the UI by entering the adapter's hostname or IP address. Home Assistant can also discover the adapter on the network and offer to add it. It adds binary sensors for heating and spa connection, a number for the target temperature, a select for the heating mode, and lights. Sensors report the current temperature, salt value, salt cartridge age, the salt 10-day check timer, and the versions of the control box, the FreshWater Salt System and the Wi-Fi dongle. Connection settings can be changed later without removing the integration, and a diagnostics file can be downloaded for bug reports.
