# Homematic

> Homematic is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 1.3k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Homematic is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to Homematic hubs and their devices over the local network. It provides binary sensors, climate devices, covers, lights, locks, notifiers, sensors and switches. Several actions allow manual control, including setting a device value, changing a device paramset and setting the value of a system variable. Another action simulates a keypress on CCU or Homegear using virtual or device keys. The integration can also reconnect to all hubs and put an RPC XML interface into installation mode. Setup is done in the configuration file.

## Setting it up

It is set up in configuration.yaml, not in the UI.

## Actions

- **Put paramset**: Manually changes a device’s paramset. Equivalent to putParamset-method from XML-RPC.
  Fields: Address, Interface, Paramset, Paramset key, RX mode
- **Reconnect**: Reconnects to all Homematic hubs.
- **Set device value**: Controls a device manually. Equivalent to setValue-method from XML-RPC.
  Fields: Address, Channel, Interface, Param, Value, Value type
- **Set install mode**: Sets a RPC XML interface into installation mode.
  Fields: Address, Interface, Mode, Time
- **Set variable value**: Sets the value of a system variable.
  Fields: Entity, Name, Value
- **Virtual key**: Simulates a keypress (or other valid action) on CCU/Homegear with virtual or device keys.
  Fields: Address, Channel, Interface, Param
