# Hikvision

> Hikvision is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 4.2k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

Hikvision is a built-in integration that connects Hikvision network cameras and recorders to Home Assistant. It communicates with the device locally and is set up in the UI by entering the host, port, username and password, with an option for HTTPS. It provides binary sensors, cameras and events. The binary sensors cover conditions such as face detection, line crossing, entering and exiting a region, disk errors, a full disk, illegal access and IP conflicts. Events are available for field detection, line crossing and motion. If an older YAML configuration fails to import, a notice appears in the Repairs section of the settings.
