# Google Maps Travel Time

> Google Maps Travel Time is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 1.6k installs sharing analytics and needs the vendor's cloud.

Google Maps Travel Time is a built-in integration that reports travel time between an origin and a destination. It adds sensors to Home Assistant and relies on Google's cloud service, so an API key is needed during setup in the UI. Options cover travel mode, departure or arrival time, traffic model, units, language, and route features to avoid. For transit, the mode and routing preference can also be chosen. Two actions return route alternatives and travel times between two locations, one of them limited to public transit. A repair notice appears in Settings when the Routes API has not been enabled.
