# Forecast.Solar

> Forecast.Solar is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 67.6k installs sharing analytics and needs the vendor's cloud.

Forecast.Solar is a built-in integration that estimates solar energy and power production for a configured array. It adds sensors for estimated energy production this hour, next hour, today, remaining today and tomorrow, plus power estimates for now and for 1, 12 and 24 hours ahead. Peak power times for today and tomorrow are also provided as sensors. The forecast is based on panel azimuth, declination, location and total peak wattage entered during setup in the UI. Options cover an API key, inverter size, and damping factors for morning and evening results. A Get forecast action returns the production forecast as a time series, and the data comes from the vendor's cloud service.

## Forecast.Solar in Vulpo

Forecast.Solar feeds the Solar Panel card, which compares production with the forecast, and the Solar Peak card, which shows when production peaks today and tomorrow. The Solar Production Live Activity (Pro) runs from a power sensor of your own, such as your inverter's.
