# CoolMasterNet

> CoolMasterNet is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 188 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

CoolMasterNet is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to CoolMasterNet climate control devices over the local network. It adds climate entities for the connected units, along with a binary sensor for a clean filter alert, a button to reset the filter, and a sensor for the error code. Setup is done in the UI, where the supported modes are chosen: cool, dry, fan only, heat, and automatic heat/cool. Options also cover whether units can be turned off from Home Assistant and whether a swing mode control is exposed, which makes polling slower. A wakeup prompt can be sent before each command, which serial models require, and the connection settings can be changed later without removing the entry.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **Set up in the UI**: Add it in Settings, Devices and services. Nothing to download.
- **Change settings later**: Its connection settings can change without removing it.
- **Updated with Home Assistant**: Ships and updates with every Home Assistant release.

## Setting it up

It is added under Settings, Devices and services, with Add integration.

### Connect

- **Support cool mode**: Enable if your units can cool.
- **Support dry mode**: Enable if your units have a dry (dehumidify) mode.
- **Support fan only mode**: Enable if your units can run the fan without heating or cooling.
- **Support heat mode**: Enable if your units can heat.
- **Support automatic heat/cool mode**: Enable if your units can switch between heating and cooling automatically.
- **Host**: The hostname or IP address of your CoolMasterNet device.
- **Can be turned off**: Allow the units to be turned off from Home Assistant.
- **Control swing mode**: Expose a swing mode control. This adds one request per unit on every update, so polling is slower.
- **Send wakeup prompt**: Send the coolmaster unit an empty command before issuing any actual command. This is required for serial models.

Also asked when changing the connection.
