# Azure Storage

> Azure Storage is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 161 installs sharing analytics and needs the vendor's cloud.

Azure Storage is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to a Microsoft Azure storage account. It talks to the Microsoft cloud, so it needs an internet connection to work. Setup happens in the UI, where the account name, container name and storage account key are entered. The container is created if it does not already exist. Connection settings such as the container name and account key can be changed later without removing the entry, and the key can be reauthenticated. If the storage container cannot be found, a notice appears in Settings under Repairs.

## Setting it up

It is added under Settings, Devices and services, with Add integration.

### Add Azure storage account

- **Account name**: Name of the storage account
- **Container name**: Name of the storage container to be used (will be created if it does not exist)
- **Storage account key**: Storage account access key used for authorization

### Reauthenticate Azure storage account

- **Storage account key**: Storage account access key used for authorization

### Reconfigure Azure storage account

- **Container name**: Name of the storage container to be used (will be created if it does not exist)
- **Storage account key**: Storage account access key used for authorization
