# August

> August is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 6.1k installs sharing analytics and needs the vendor's cloud.

August is a built-in integration that connects August smart locks and related devices to Home Assistant through the vendor's cloud. It provides locks, cameras, buttons, events, sensors and binary sensors, including doorbell ding and image capture detection, a wake button, a camera and an operator sensor. Setup happens in the UI, where an authentication method is picked and sign-in goes through the vendor's own sign-in page. Home Assistant can also spot the device on the network and offer to add it. A repair notice points out that Yale Home has a new integration, and a diagnostics file can be downloaded to attach to a bug report.
