# ASUSWRT

> ASUSWRT is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 5.3k installs sharing analytics and works locally.

ASUSWRT is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to ASUS routers running ASUSWRT. It communicates with the router locally and is added through the user interface, with a choice of communication protocol and either a password or an SSH key file for login. It adds device presence tracking, so connected devices can be used to see who is home. Sensors cover router status such as CPU usage, CPU temperature, temperatures for the wireless radios, connected devices, download figures, last boot time and average load. Options let the user set how long to wait before a device counts as away, choose which network interface supplies statistics, and decide whether unknown or unnamed devices are tracked. A diagnostics download is available to attach to bug reports.
