# AlarmDecoder

> AlarmDecoder is a built-in integration for Home Assistant. It has 113 installs sharing analytics and works locally.

AlarmDecoder is a built-in integration that connects Home Assistant to an AlarmDecoder device attached to an alarm panel. It works locally and is set up in the UI, with a choice of protocol and connection settings such as host and port, or a device path and baud rate. It provides alarm, binary sensor and sensor entities. Options cover an alternative night mode, auto-bypass on arming and whether a code is required for arming. Zones can be edited with a zone name, zone type, RF serial and RF loop, and relay address and channel settings are available. Two actions are included: one sends custom keypresses to the alarm, and the other sends the toggle chime command.
