# Paper Buttons Row

> Paper Buttons Row is a dashboard card for Home Assistant. It has 371 GitHub stars and was last updated October 26, 2026.

Paper Buttons Row is a dashboard card that adds configurable rows of buttons with per-state styling. It is a rewrite of the original button-entity-row plugin and follows Home Assistant's button card more closely. Each button supports tap, double tap and hold actions, and a button with only an entity set toggles that entity by default. Styling can change with state, and the icon, text and ripple effect can be styled separately, with an option for icon alignment and haptic feedback. Layouts place buttons side by side or stacked, and values can be templated, including with Jinja templates rendered in the backend. Presets, a shared base configuration and extra CSS allow custom animations and hover effects, and it is installed through the Marketplace or HACS on older versions.

## From the README

> This is a complete rewrite of the original button-entity-row plugin, that is more consistent with Home Assistant's button card, it uses actions including tap\_action, double\_tap\_action and hold\_action allowing for greater customisation of the buttons behaviour. It also retains the ability to style the button based on state, but adds the ability to style the icon, text, and ripple effect separately. There is a new option for icon alignment and the buttons have haptic feedback.
