# Studio Code Server

> Studio Code Server is an app for Home Assistant. It has 126k installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 27, 2026.

Studio Code Server is an app that runs a Visual Studio Code editor inside the Home Assistant frontend. It adds a sidebar page where the Home Assistant configuration can be edited from a web browser. The Home Assistant, MDI icons and YAML extensions come pre-installed and pre-configured, so auto-completion works without extra setup. Options cover the log verbosity, the folder the editor opens by default, extra Debian packages for the shell environment, and shell commands that run on every start. A reset-settings command in the terminal returns the editor settings to the app defaults. It requires Home Assistant OS and is built for aarch64 and amd64.
