# Rclone Backup

> Rclone Backup is an app for Home Assistant. It has 893 installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 23, 2026.

Rclone Backup is an app that syncs Home Assistant backups and configuration to remote locations using rclone. It runs scheduled jobs, each with its own sources, destinations, rclone command and include or exclude filters. Jobs without a schedule run when the app starts, and a run-once mode can trigger them through an app restart. Further options cover a dry run, global rclone flags, a custom rclone config and whether backups are renamed before upload. It can also send completion and failure events to Home Assistant, which can be turned off. The app needs Home Assistant OS, has its own page in the sidebar, and asks for privileged capabilities, hardware access and Home Assistant API access.
