# OpenCCU

> OpenCCU is an app for Home Assistant. It has 2.2k installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 27, 2026.

OpenCCU is an app that runs a HomeMatic and homematicIP central inside Home Assistant. It provides the features of a standard OpenCCU system and is described as fully compatible with a CCU3 device. Its web interface opens from its own sidebar page, where HomeMatic and homematicIP devices are configured in the usual CCU way. Devices only appear in Home Assistant after the separate Homematic(IP) Local for OpenCCU integration is added. The app needs Home Assistant OS, runs on aarch64 and amd64, and asks for privileged Linux capabilities and access to USB, serial or GPIO devices.
