# NetAlertX

> NetAlertX is an app for Home Assistant. It has 1.2k installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 27, 2026.

NetAlertX is an app that scans a network for connected devices and keeps a continuous inventory of them. It alerts when new and unknown devices appear, and it is based on the Docker image from jokob-sk. Its web interface opens as its own page in the Home Assistant sidebar. Devices can be passed into Home Assistant through an MQTT plugin described in the documentation. The networks to scan are set as subnets in the app settings, and custom scripts and extra environment variables are supported. It requires Home Assistant OS, runs on aarch64 and amd64, uses the host network, and asks for extra system rights and Supervisor API access.

Apps need Home Assistant OS. Container and Core installs cannot run them.

## Supports

- **Opens in the sidebar**: Its own page opens inside Home Assistant.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Add its app repository under Settings, Apps, then install and start it.

## From the README

> I maintain this and other Home Assistant add-ons in my free time: keeping up with upstream changes, HA changes, and testing on real hardware takes a lot of time (and some money). I use around 5-10 of my \>110 addons so regularly I install test machines (and purchase some test services such as vpn) that I don't use myself to troubleshoot and improve the addons
>
> If this add-on saves you time or makes your setup easier, I would be very grateful for your support!
