# MQTT IO

> MQTT IO is an app for Home Assistant. It has 4.1k installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 27, 2026.

MQTT IO is a Home Assistant app that exposes GPIO pins, hardware sensors and serial devices to an MQTT server. It suits single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi, and it runs on aarch64 and amd64 systems with Home Assistant OS. Modules and devices are listed in a configuration file, and the app creates a default file with Home Assistant discovery enabled if none exists. If the file sets no MQTT host, the app uses the server from an MQTT broker app such as Mosquitto, and another server can be set instead. Dependencies for the supported modules are already installed, though a few modules, including adxl345, as3935 and several boards' GPIO modules, are left out. The app has no sidebar page, asks for full hardware access and privileged capabilities, and has a log level option for troubleshooting.
