# Immich

Immich is a Home Assistant app that runs a self-hosted photo and video backup service for mobile phones. Its web interface opens as its own page in the Home Assistant sidebar. It tracks Immich v3, which needs a PostgreSQL database with the VectorChord extension, and that database can be internal or external. Storage can go to a mounted local disk or a remote SMB share, and custom scripts and extra environment variables are supported. It requires Home Assistant OS and runs on aarch64 and amd64, and on amd64 it needs an x86-64-v2 or newer CPU. The developer says the project is under very active development and should not be the only place photos and videos are stored.
