# Silicon Labs Multiprotocol

> Silicon Labs Multiprotocol is an app for Home Assistant. It has 540 installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 22, 2026.

Silicon Labs Multiprotocol is an app that runs Zigbee and OpenThread on one Silicon Labs wireless adapter. It targets SONOFF dongles with Silicon Labs chips, such as the ZBDongle-E, which first need MultiPAN firmware flashed. For Zigbee, the MultiPAN firmware is built on a newer EZSP version than ZHA supports, so the app is used with Zigbee2MQTT, which is pointed at the app's hostname. For OpenThread, it can act as an OpenThread Border Router, which Home Assistant should discover automatically; this support is described as experimental. A web interface is available only when OpenThread is enabled, and it is meant for debugging. It needs Home Assistant OS, runs on armv7, aarch64 and amd64, uses the host network, and has access to USB and serial devices.
