# FileBrowser Quantum

> FileBrowser Quantum is an app for Home Assistant. It has 521 installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 27, 2026.

FileBrowser Quantum is a Home Assistant app that runs a web-based file manager with realtime indexing. It supports several file sources and offers sharing, plus sign-in by password, proxy, OIDC, or no authentication. Local drives and remote SMB shares can be mounted, and custom scripts and extra environment variables are supported. The interface opens as its own page in the Home Assistant sidebar and can also be reached directly on port 8071. It requires Home Assistant OS, runs on aarch64 and amd64, and asks for privileged Linux capabilities and access to USB, serial or GPIO devices. It is based on the Docker image of the FileBrowser Quantum project, a maintained fork of the original FileBrowser.

## From the README

> I maintain this and other Home Assistant add-ons in my free time: keeping up with upstream changes, HA changes, and testing on real hardware takes a lot of time (and some money). I use around 5-10 hours a week for this. If this add-on saves you time or makes your setup easier, I would be very grateful for your support!
