# Vaultwarden

> Vaultwarden is an app for Home Assistant. It has 3.9k installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 27, 2026.

Vaultwarden is a Home Assistant app that runs a self-hosted password manager for storing credentials in an encrypted vault. It is based on the lightweight open-source Vaultwarden implementation of the Bitwarden server, so Bitwarden clients such as the web interface, desktop apps, browser extensions and mobile apps can be used with it. It requires Home Assistant OS and is built for aarch64 and amd64 systems. Settings cover the log level, SSL with a certificate file and a key file, and a limit on API request size, which defaults to 10MB. An admin panel is reachable through the web interface, and the admin token is shown in the app logs until it is saved. The app does not support Ingress, so it has no sidebar page, and some browsers need SSL and HTTPS for the web interface to work.
